My journey into education wasn’t traditional; it was personal. With a background in Network and Communication, I spent years understanding how systems connect. But when it came time to send my own daughter to kindergarten, I hit a wall. I saw a vibrant, outgoing, and spirited child whose best attributes, her fire and her uniqueness, were likely to be viewed as "disruptions" in a conventional classroom. I couldn't accept a system that would tell her to "sit down and shut up" just to get the work done.
In March 2020, the world changed, and so did our path. After withdrawing my daughters to homeschool, I realized that my children, and many others, didn't just need a different curriculum; they needed a different environment. That realization became the foundation of Peak Learning Academy.
Now in my sixth year of running Peak, I combine my technical background in systems and communication with a deeply human-centric philosophy: "Connection before Correction." I’ve built a microschool where "spirit" is celebrated rather than managed, and where we use unconventional rhythms like "Recess-First" and "Survival Days" to keep that internal fire for learning alive. I am proud to be part of the VELA and National Microschooling Center communities as we redefine what education looks like for the next generation.

At Peak, we know education goes beyond books and benchmarks. It's about igniting a lifelong love for discovery in a safe, kind environment. Our approach roots in flexibility, hands-on exploration, and a natural mindset, celebrating every child's academic, emotional, and social strengths. We prioritize kindness as our foundation, fostering connections that build confidence and empathy.

Forget rigid routines and one-size-fits-all lessons. Peak offers a supportive alternative education tailored to busy families and curious kids. Our 4-day week (Monday through Thursday, 8:30 am to 1:30 pm) leaves room for rest and real life, while self-paced project-based learning adapts to each student's style. Whether through collaborative builds or quiet reflection, we meet children where they are.
An Engaging, Hands-On Curriculum
Curiosity drives us. Our curriculum sparks creativity with science experiments, art in the Sparkle Studio, and outdoor adventures that bring lessons to life. Recess comes first to fuel energy, followed by experiential projects like Survival Days that teach resilience through play. Through this self-paced learning, students dive into math, reading, and inquiry, always with a focus on joy and mastery over memorization.
